About

I’m a veterinarian with one or two (ok, lots! I’m addicted to learning…) postgraduate qualifications and completed courses that have given me the additional knowledge and skills to provide a range of therapies that contribute to veterinary rehabilitation. In addition to gait analysis and manual assessment, I can tailor treatment for each individual using options such as osteopathy (including craniosacral therapy), chiropractic, acupuncture, laser therapy, and targeted therapeutic exercise plans. For the comfort of your horse I also provide a saddle fitting service. I treat many species, including dogs, cats and horses, but have also been known to have my hands on cattle, goats and alpacas!

There are many ways veterinary rehabilitation can help your animals. Sporting and working dogs can be regularly assessed and monitored for early signs of injury or wear and tear, and strengthening/balance/exercise programmes designed to help improve performance and prevent injury. Injuries such as spinal damage, cruciate ruptures or other ligament or muscle tears and fractures can be major events for animals – and owners! – and rehabilitation can help them to recover more quickly with better function. Just as you would expect from going to physio after similar injuries yourself!

I can also help to look after younger animals who might have conditions such as hip or elbow dysplasia or other risks for early onset of arthritis. Dogs with long backs – who have a higher risk of spinal injuries – can have tailored exercise programmes to help keep them strong and try to make those injuries less likely.

Please note that I do NOT provide routine veterinary cover and you should contact your regular veterinarian for this. However I love to work in conjunction with your vet so that your animal can benefit from physical therapies and rehabilitation in addition to their other treatment.
